This session will review the most common causes of pharyngeal and esophageal disease. Common differential diagnoses including megaesophagus, esophageal strictures, esophageal foreign bodies, gastroesophageal reflux and pharyngeal weakness will be discussed. The focus will be on a practical problem-oriented approach with a review of the most important treatment strategies.

  • Recognize clinical signs of pharyngeal and esophageal disease
  • Identify common differential diagnoses
  • Recommend appropriate management strategies for most common conditions
